Bolt Unpacked Part 1

Have you seen this animation movie by Walt Disney? There are interesting characters here. Let's take the hamster, Rhino, for instance. He is aptly named. I have never known the hamsters we had before to demonstrate such gungho traits. (Stupid traits, yes. Gungho, no) His never-give-up, do-or-die attitude is so unhamster-like! More like a rhino indeed, he is a classic "D" personality. Even when the chips are down, as he tries to hold the collapsing steel in the inferno that engulfs the building, he declares with glee, "This is a good day to die!"

He probably has traits of the "I" as well. Look at how he jumps to conclusions so quickly. Observe how effusive he is in his expressions of emotions. Did you notice how he managed to influence and persuade Bolt to change his mind? So over-the-top compared to when Mittens tried to do likewise as Bolt left the studio. And look at how he dashed off after Bolt, initially going in the wrong direction. He managed to persuade Mittens to go along too. Most of all, look at the verbal overflow! Such an "I" trait.

The combination of the "D" and the "I" make Rhino a good leader. But he would need to be balanced by the "C" in terms of details, and he would certainly need to work on his "S" - see how easily he left the home he had known for so long at the caravan site.

Overall, when you see such characteristics in a tiny package, I am reminded of the saying, "Good things come in small packages." The locals here would call him a "chilli padi" - a very very spicey but very small chilli. Packs a punch!
It is this attitude that makes Rhino the one who "saves the movie", according to my son.
